My daughter Kristina and her friend James arrived in Merida last night. After a late breakfast this morning at Cafe Creme, we strolled the tree-lined walkways of Paseo de Montejo, and then ventured further into Centro Historico in the heart of old Merida. Later in the evening we had dinner in Plaza de Santiago, and watched the street performers and live entertainment. While Joel and I enjoyed our post-dinner cigars they continued their wanderings down Calle 59, and rejoined us after about an hour of solo exploration. It was a beautiful evening, the weather absolutely perfect, and we enjoyed the evening’s entertainment and getting reconnected. It’s so nice having them down for a visit, and we will be sad when their brief time with us comes to an end.
