It’s All About The Streets

IMG_1270It’s all about the streets down here in Mexico. The streets are the venue for action—and the action is often diverse and interesting. It goes way beyond the traffic, which is pretty exciting and diverse in itself.  Of course there are the people, always interesting.  And then there is the truly unusual.  My daughter Kristina and I were visiting El Mercado de Galvez in the heart of MeridaCentro Historico (Calle 56 para C65 y C69).  The market is HUGE, and really is worthy of an extended visit.  However, upon exiting the Mercado we stumbled upon these two street performers.  You will see a lot of this kind of thing when visiting Mexico.  I love watching street performers, they’re gutsy people eking out a tenuous living at best, and they just let it all hang out.  We watched and photographed both for awhile, and I contributed a few pesos to their livelihood.   All images were captured with my compact Canon PowerShot G15 backup shooter (often mentioned in this blog).  Photo information for the image to the left is: 1/200s @ f/2.8, ISO 100, 105mm, Auto, Natural Light, Handheld.  Click on image to enlarge.
