Diego Santiago was photographed at Parque Zoologico del Centenario here in Merida, Yucatan, MX.  He’s a beautiful bird, but shrieks like a banshee possessed.  In other words he can be loud and quite obnoxious at times—come to think of it that could describe me too.  A benefit of living in the tropics is the plethora of beautiful, colorful and interesting birds indigenous to the area.

Diego would bring a big splash of color to any wall space in your home or office, and without the attendant shrieking. He would look great printed on painter’s canvas (framed or unframed), or fully matted & framed as pictured below.  He will print fairly large at 19.25 x 24 inches (approximately 1-1/2 x 2 feet).

Photographer’s note:  Original digital image captured in CameraRAW with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera and Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM zoom lens with Tamron Pro SP AF 1.4 TC.  RAW conversion and basic post-edit completed in PSE11.  A posterized effect was added to the image to give it a more artistic flavor in PSE11 as an advanced post-edit. Camera settings:  1/250s @ f/5.6, ISO 800, 260mm (1.4x), TV-Priority, Natural Light, Handheld.
