The Face of Cuba
It’s the people of Cuba that you remember. Especially the children. This little tyke looks so mournful, and yet—just seconds before he was running around with his friends kicking a soccer ball. The original image was captured in color, but I thought simplifying the image to B&W really enhanced the boy’s Afro-Caribbean roots. Photograph taken in Camaguey, Cuba.
Photographer’s note: Captured in CameraRAW with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom lens. RAW conversion, B&W conversion and all post-edit enhancements completed in PSE11. Camera settings: 1/200s @ f/4, ISO 100, FL/105mm, Natural Light, Handheld.
