The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes

The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes

The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle practically invented the detective genre, and Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr. Watson became virtual legends overnight. Coming back to a good book is like coming home. I’ve read every single Sherlock Holmes story ever published multiple times. My favorite reading venue is a rainy day, a flickering fire, a double Scotch whisky, a good dog and my pipe.

I will have to eschew my favorite venue in favor of my MacBook Pro and an eBook version featuring one of my best-loved protagonists. I am on the road in Peru and will have to settle for this more sterile experience, missing all the while my rain, fire, Scotch whisky, dog and pipe. No never-mind, I will enjoy myself anyway.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of reading Doyle and Sherlock Holmes don’t delay. Although the stories were written about a hundred years ago, they are still very accessible and enjoyable. The repartee between Holmes and Watson is priceless, and the plot lines will intrigue you. Doyle captures England’s Victorian  age perfectly, and everything is just so British. Give it a shot. Cheerio.
