The Documentary: Alamar

Jorge Machado [Castro]

Our expert guide in Sian Ka’an, Jorge Machado [Castro], was featured, with his son and father, in a documentary called:  Alamar.  It’s a beautiful little film about their last trip to the ocean together before his Italian ex-wife takes their boy to Italy to live.  It can be viewed for free at Hulu.com.  Three generations living on the ocean, and fishing everyday—and simply interacting as fathers and sons.  Joel and I were so impressed with Jorge, and his life-story, that we’ve devoted some time writing about him.  I have attached some links to my prior posts about the experience.
